The story takes place in a small mining place in Serbia, within a time span covering the prewar, war and postwar period. It is a story of tragic life of an illiterate village woman, of her life with three men that she loved.
Her life, torn between dreams and reality, is a life of suffering, loneliness, disappointment, hopes and love, and it becomes indestructible and transforms into symbol of human victory.
