THE BEAUTY OF SIN is a film comedy which humorously depicts the chaos of our time created by the absence of adequate moral values and a vacuum in which fade away the basic premises of civilization.
This film presents a hard-to-recognize world of brutality in the Montenegrian crags where reigns archaic codes and monstrous rudiments of "honour and blood". An adulteress is killed with a club over a loaf of bread, placed on her head, while clad in black hiss from out of white crags.
Then comes, Georges, a man who has made it on the Coast. He demolishes the petrified world of Medjedja. With him, come his young best maid and man, Jaglika and her robust simpleton hus band, down to the coast in a world crazy for hard currency grabbing.
The meeting of two opposite worlds, consternated preservers of morals and unscroupoulous people is described. THE BEAUTY OF SIN makes this film a mothley fresco full with bizarre characters, ordinary people, broken families, abandoned children.
This film forces the audience into laugh. This, however, is not the laughter to overwhelm discomfort. After it, there remains bitterness and a dilemna over "THE BEAUTY OF SIN" or the ugliness of virtue.
In our story, contrary to the habit, the ending shows an unconventional derogating from archaic habits where the husband, instead of killing his wife, commits suicide.
