For almost five decades, with undiminished passion, Alzbeta Cizikova has persistently brought to life beauty, harmony, and a pastoral life steeped with nostalgic emotions from her childhood and early youth. Her art is so different and yet so identical to real life, it makes things, events and people from bygone times take on special forms, feelings are cleansed, and the beauty of what is experienced is refracted through the prism of subjective emotion. Alzbeta is one of the first women naive painters not only in Kovacica and Yugoslavia, but in Europe as well, and her painting belongs to the most elite circle of the Kovacica School of naive art that became famous with Martin Jonas, Paluska, Knjazovic, Bires, Sokol.
